چکیده
ABSTRACT Introduction: A high index of exercise tolerance is fundamental for marathon runners, indicating a good capacity to perform the exercises considering their maximum duration and workload. Objective: Evaluate effects resistance training with different loads on runners. Methods: 120 professional long-distance runners were selected as volunteers experiment. Divided into experimental groups A, B Control, intervention had 9-week period. The received loads, while Control group did not undergo intervention. Results: Upper limb muscle mass increased from 3.38 ± 0.18 3.75 0.37 in A; 3.40 0.15 3.66 0.31 B; peak biceps brachii moment 53.60 6.27 62.97 8.87 53.67 5.68 58.48 6.16 5. 37 2.16 5.73 2.67 7.21 2.62 6.76 4.36 154.86 19.69 108.30 31.75 presented reduction 156.97 46.13 116.45 39.09, data control change significantly. Conclusion: Resistance daily can effectively improve endurance Level evidence II; Therapeutic studies - investigation treatment outcomes.

Influence of chronic exercise on carotid atherosclerosis in marathon runners
OBJECTIVES The effect of habitual, high-intensity exercise training on the progression of atherosclerosis is unclear. We assessed indices of vascular health (central systolic blood pressure (SBP) and arterial stiffness as well as carotid intima-medial thickness (cIMT)) in addition to cardiovascular risk factors of trained runners versus their untrained spouses or partners to evaluate the impact...
متن کاملLeft ventricular dynamics during exercise in elite marathon runners.
To assess left ventricular structure and function at rest and during exercise in endurance athletes, 10 elite marathon runners, aged 28 to 37 years, and 10 matched nonathletes were studied by echocardiography and supine bicycle ergometry. Each athlete's best marathon time was less than 2 h 16 min. Echocardiography was performed at rest, at a 60 W work load and at an individually adjusted work l...
متن کاملEffects of weather on the performance of marathon runners.
The effects of air temperature, relative and specific humidity, wind speed, solar shortwave radiation, thermal longwave radiation, and rain on the performance of participants in the annual Stockholm Marathon from 1980 to 2008 were analysed statistically. The objective was to validate and extend previous studies by including data on finishing times of slower male and female runners and on the pe...
متن کاملIncidence of training-related injuries among marathon runners.
A questionnaire was sent to all 960 entrants in a major city marathon race to obtain information on training-related injuries. A total of 497 replies were received; of these 287 (58%) had incurred some form of injury during preparation for the race. Seventy-one of these individuals reported more than one injury. Almost all injuries affected the lower limb, with 113 cases (32%) involving pain or...
متن کاملPhysiological and training characteristics of recreational marathon runners
Purpose The aim of this study was to examine the physical and training characteristics of recreational marathon runners within finish time bandings (2.5-3 h, 3-3.5 h, 3.5-4 h, 4-4.5 h and >4.5 h). Materials and methods A total of 97 recreational marathon runners (age 42.4 ± 9.9 years; mass 69.2 ± 11.3 kg; stature 172.8 ± 9.1 cm), with a marathon finish time of 229.1 ± 48.7 min, of whom n = 34...
